Message this information is not accurate. Firstly, the car will reach operating temperature within a few minutes and then the cars cooling system will keep the car at the same temperature for the duration of the trip.

secondly, in the event that the car begins overheating, the best thing you can do is, turn OFF the AC, turn ON the heat, and cruise at slow speed. this will allow lots of air to cool the car the way it was meant to be cooled. This is assuming your cooling system is working properly. If your cars temp starts shooting up and you think the cooling setup may have failed somehow, then it might be a good idea to try pulling over and opening the hood (won't help much)
